A native of Germany, Andreas Goebel earned a Master of Chemical and Process Engineering in 1982 from the Braunschweig University of Technology.
Mr. Goebel began his career in the nuclear industry at Siemens KWU as a design and project engineer. Over his nearly 10-year tenure at the company, he worked his way up to project manager for the pressurized water reactor (PWR) design, which was co-developed by Framatome and Siemens.
In 1993, he became a technical project manager for Nuclear Power International in Paris, coordinating the design phases of the European pressurized reactor (EPR).
In 2000, Mr. Goebel joined AREVA as project manager and was responsible for overseeing the modernization of two nuclear power plants in Ukraine.
Starting in 2003, he served as Deputy Project Director for the Olkiluoto 3 EPR project in Finland.
In 2010, he became head of AREVA’s Footprint Strategy and Planning Division for Engineering & Projects.
Mr. Goebel joined the ATMEA Company in 2013 and is currently President and CEO.
